 HR Support Officer sought for leading public sector body. Based St Andrews, Fife. £25,500 pa plus excellent benefits. Full-time and permanent.

This role involves working closely with the department's HR Business Partners providing support on a wide range of human resources activities. This full-time and permanent role is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who has some HR Assistant/Officer level experience which they wish to consolidate and build upon at the next level. Duties include,
  • Advising staff and managers on HR policies and procedures
  •  Assisting in the development of training programs in relation to HR policies
  • Researching and reviewing all HR policies to assist HR Business Partners with revising, implementing and updating polices. Devise a plan for review/updating.
  • Assisting with the administration of the function and dealing with some employee relations matters, such as absence capability meetings. Further, assisting with setting up disciplinary/ grievance hearing and attending for note taking purposes as and when required.
  • Oversee and monitor the absence management process and co-ordinate all occupational health referrals liaising with HR Business Partners as required.
  •  Assisting the Equality Officer with preparation of relevant applications, driving forward diversity initiatives and providing statistical reports
  • Taking minutes at department /committee meetings
  • Review departmental processes and procedures and propose adjustments to enhance service delivery

In order to be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate some experience at HR Assistant/Officer level, where you have provided advice and support to staff, line managers and other members of the human resources team. Further, you will be comfortable dealing with unpredictability and managing conflicting demands, both as part of a team and upon your own initiative. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be an Associate of the CIPD or are working towards or intend to work towards.

On behalf of our client we seek an HR (Redeployment) Advisor, The role is based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, and there is a salary range of £21,600-£28,100 per annum plus flexible working and an excellent benefits package. The position is full-time and fixed term for one year.

To join the HR Services Team at a leading public sector body.  This full-time role is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who already has experience of managing redeployment cases. The main objectives of this role

are:
  • Supporting and advising Managers in relation to temporary staffing assignments and the appropriate process to be followed.
  • Supporting and advising Managers in relation to members of their team who require redeployment to another role within the organisation or individuals who seek to possibly join the Managers team.
  • Supporting and assisting staff members who, for various reasons, require redeployment from one role in the organisation to another. In relation to these individuals, undertaking appropriate and sensitive “case management” to assist them securing a suitable alternative role.

In addition, the role involves contributing to the ongoing continuous development of the HR Service Teams’ work, including a customer focussed approach and leading on specific development work or projects.

Based in either Glasgow or Edinburgh, there will be some travel to other sites.

Experience of managing redeployment cases is essential in order to be considered for this role. You shall also have experience of dealing with employment and recruitment agencies to gain best value for the organisation. Due to the nature of this role, you will be adept at dealing with situations which require empathy and sensitive handling. Further, you will be able to work under pressure, manage conflicting demands and be comfortable dealing with unpredictability. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is essential along with having an adaptable and conscientious approach.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be an Associate of the CIPD or working towards.

HR Officer (x2) Leading International Law firm

An outstanding opportunity to work with a leading international Law firm in a generalist HR Officer role.

Alongside the firms HR Managers, providing Human Resources related advice and assistance ensuring delivery of a sound and professional operational HR and learning & development service. Implementing, as required, HR and Learning and Development policy and strategic initiatives/projects .Ensuring compliance with legislation and professional HR best practice to promote the ongoing development of HR. Contributing to the development of HR policy and planning.

Key duties:
HR Policy and Specialist Advice: Work with partners/managers to manage sickness absence (including long-term absence) for assigned areas in line with the client’s absence management policy. Conduct absence meetings as necessary. Manage income protection claims as necessary. Responding to HR related queries and providing general advice on HR policies such as maternity leave, grievance and disciplinary procedures, flexible working requests, diversity and data protection. Deal with all maternity and adoption cases for the assigned groups/areas.

Employee relations: Manage grievance, and dismissal procedures for assigned groups, calling upon specialist support as necessary. Provide employment law advice, using specialist assistance as necessary. Act as the Employee Forum’s secretary as required.
Compensation & Reward. Understand the remuneration and reward issues relevant to the assigned group, including market and benchmarking analysis and reward activities. Provide advice as required on remuneration levels and other contractual terms for the defined client group. Assist with the annual salary review and employee benefits programmes.

Performance Management and appraisal. Provide expert advice on performance management issues, including carrying out investigations and disciplinary meetings. Advise line managers on employment law and best practice. Assist with advice, training and coaching on the appraisal process and ensure the timely completion of performance appraisals.

Recruitment, selection and induction. Liaise with the recruitment team to ensure recruitment is managed effectively, cost efficiently and in line with firm policy. In particular, to assist with identification of vacancies and recruitment authorisations, to assist as required with candidate screening, interviewing, determination of terms and conditions.  Conduct and present at company inductions as required.  Oversee the management of probationary periods for the defined client group.  Where necessary, assist as required with candidate screening and interviewing and assessment, particularly during peak periods.

Learning & Development. Work with Learning and Development colleagues to ensure that individuals are equipped with the skills necessary to carry out their jobs to a high level.

To be considered for this role you must has excellent verbal and written communication and customer service skills. Further, be flexible in nature, a team player and have the capacity to establish professional credibility quickly.

You will be graduate or equivalent and be an Associate Member, or ideally, Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Your background should include solid generalist experience operating at HR Officer level in a Law firm, the financial services sector, a blue chip company or similar professional environment. Further, this should involve experience of employee relations, recruitment, performance management and learning and development.
